Joint Meeting of the La Jolla Rotary Clubs and Featured Speaker UCSD Chancellor Kholsa! Please join us on June 5, when we have the distinct privilege of welcoming one of American higher education's most accomplished leaders — Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla of UC San Diego. Consider the scope of what he oversees: a flagship research university of more than 46,000 students, twelve academic and professional schools, eight undergraduate residential colleges, a world-class health system, and the legendary Scripps Institution of Oceanography. It is, by any measure, an extraordinary enterprise — and Chancellor Khosla has not merely managed it, but transformed it. Register today to reserve a spot! |

Today, we are honored to welcome other La Jolla-area Rotary clubs for a special presentation from UCSD Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla
As UC San Diego’s chief executive officer, Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla provides vision and strategy, leading a campus of more than 46,000 students within 12 academic, professional and graduate schools and eight undergraduate residential colleges; a preeminent health system; and the prestigious Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Khosla initiated and led UC San Diego’s first-ever Strategic Plan and the ambitious 10-year, $2 billion Campaign for UC San Diego. The Campaign raised $3.05 billion, exceeding its original goal by more than $1 billion, and making UC San Diego the youngest institution ever to complete a multi-billion-dollar fundraising campaign. During his tenure, Khosla has initiated more than $12 billion in capital improvements to expand health care services, classrooms and research space, double the number of on-campus housing units and enhance the student experience.
Under Chancellor Khosla’s leadership, UC San Diego has expanded college access and affordability for underserved students, initiated campuswide interdisciplinary research initiatives to foster collaboration and solve societal challenges, created bench-to-bedside patient care, and strengthened research and community partnerships to drive regional impact.

This special meeting includes the official Passing of the Gavel and a presentation from Cameron Mofid, who at age 25 became the youngest person to visit every country in the world - including North Korea.
Kicking off the program, President David Chong will give us a look-back at the highlights of his year as he officially passes the gavel to President-Elect Tim Fronczek. La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary will salute the leadership of this very special individual, whose kindness, enthusiasm and professionalism led us during another year of change and reflection.
Then we turn to our speaker, Cameron Mofid, whose program is entitled "Redefine What's Possible."
Growing up with debilitating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Cameron set out on a seven-year trip as a form of real-world exposure therapy. During that time, he traversed war zones, was detained in jail cells, and ventured through some of the most remote places on Earth. Today, Cameron draws on his experiences to share practical insights on overcoming fear, navigating uncertainty, and redefining what we believe is possible. He is also the founder of Humanity Effect, a nonprofit organization that has supported more than 1,000 children through two schools and an orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria. His story and work have been featured in major media, including CNN, Forbes, CBS, FOX, BBC, and Business Insider.
